Roxbury Heritage State Park

Roxbury Heritage State Park is located about one mile east from Brookline, MA. This park features the Dillaway-Thomas House, which was built in 1750. Today, the house has been restored to reflect the past, and interpretive programs allow visitors to investigate the history of this area of Massachusetts.

Lost Pond Conservation Area and Lost Pond Reservation

This is a conservation area located in the extreme northwest corner of Brookline. There is plenty of open woodland here, as well as rocky outcrops, a marsh, bog and stream. There are trails in the conservation area.

Newton Street Park

Located at the former Newton Street Landfill, today the area has been transformed into a 15 acre multi-generational community park. It features a regulation size synthetic turf soccer field, play areas, picnic areas, walking paths, parking and connections to the Lost Pond Nature Sanctuary.

This is a very small park in Brookline. Visitors will find it located next to Heath School, with Eliot Crescent separating the two. The main feature of the park is its mature oak trees.

This park is located in southwest Brookline behind the Baker Elementary School. The D. Blakely Hoar Sanctuary is a natural, undeveloped 25 acre area containing several typical plant communities. Trails are located in the park.

Hall's Pond Sanctuary and Amory Woods

The pond is one of two natural ponds remaining in Brookline. Visitors will also find the area contains wetlands, an upland area, a formal garden area, and a short trail. In 2000, Amory Woods was integrated into Hall's Pond. Handicapped accessible trails are available here.

Larz Anderson Park

This is the largest park in Brookline spanning a little over 61 acres. It was formerly the Larz Anderson estate and today features large expanses of lawn at the top of the hill and sweeping slopes. There is also an outdoor skating rink, a picnic area with grills, a pond, athletic fields and a playground. The Larz Anderson Auto Museum is also within the park area.
